Longtime community and civic leader Jeff Flores, who has served as the top staff person to Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard, is now a candidate for the 3rd Supervisor district in the June primary.

Flores has worked for the Supervisor and constituents in the 3rd District encompassing northeast Bakersfield, Oildale, and parts of SW Bakersfield for the past eleven years. Voters twice elected Flores to the Kern High School Board of Trustees This district spans from SW Bakersfield to Rio Bravo and covers the metro areas in between representing 180,000 residents. This includes the neighborhoods of Bakersfield Country Club, La Cresta, Hillcrest, Westchester, Oleander, Old Stockdale and Kern City.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of San Diego and he and his wife Jackie have a son, Oliver , 11 and reside in northeast Bakersfield.

Previous to working for Supervisor Maggard, Jeff served as Manager of Government Affairs and Communities for Rio Tinto Minerals/U.S. Borax, in Kern County.

“I am eagerly looking forward to both campaigning and then representing the people who reside here, educate their children in our schools, work in our economy, who like my family appreciate this community we are fortunate to call home.”

Most important issues that face us;

✓ Sustain and enhance the safety of our neighborhoods and school and commercial areas.

✓ Support law enforcement

✓ Keep Kern County attractive to current employers and to those looking to expand in the Central Valley.

✓ Provide necessary county services (fire, sheriff, parks, etc) with top-quality service while respecting each tax dollar.

Another key part of the job of a county supervisor is working with each resident of the district with any problem or assistance they need from County of Kern departments. My motto over the years having worked on constituent calls and requests is that no matter is too small or large or too difficult to resolve .
